Default Mineral Grey Bumper---

i have a 2013 ram 1500 sport Mineral Grey,,

so my bumper had got scratched and i had to get it repainted and now the bumper looks like a different color than the rest of the truck.

i dont know if it was like that before but i can notice it, the autobody person said since bumpers plastic the paint goes on different thats why the colors different.

so for all you with mineral grey sport can you confirm if your bumper matches rest of truck or is it a lil darker/lighter.

Call a local automotive paint supply shop and see if there are any variances for your paint code....some manufactures have 2...3 sometimes 5 different variances for one paint code depending on time of vehicle manufacture...assembly location and paint supplier...With today's paint technology the difference between the color match on bumper vs body panels is most of the time not to obvious....maybe even go to a dealership and check out what they have in stock and see what they look like

Good Luck

Should be fairly close match if it is new.

Guess which panel was repainted.

I had my Ram paint ruined by liquid asphalt, front bumper, front fenders, hood, front doors, & both A pillars
The body shop repainted the ruined paint by sanding it down & the neutralizing the chemical, then they applied primer & paint, they did a blend on the doors & roofline

this is what it all looked like

after the repaint

Excuse me for saying so, but that "auto body person" is full of crap. I have a Mineral Gray Metallic truck, (not a Sport, but same paint on the plastic bumpers, as I have an Express) and there is NO variance in the paints' color, shade, value or anything else. I am a fanatic about my truck, and have washed/waxed/detailed/ and went over my truck in every way imaginable while looking at it in every light possible, and I can say with conviction that the paint matches perfectly. I would find a new body shop. JMO.

That is great yours matches ...but on some vehicles the primer used on plastic body parts underneath the base coat is a different color than what is used on the body panels... that can effect the color match slightly..but still it should not be so obvious that it is noticed at first glance at the vehicle.
Could the OP post a pic of the truck so we can see how far off the color match is?

I parked between a 2013 and a 08 all three of our trucks are mineral grey the 08 and mine were exactly the same but the other 13 was noticeably lighter. I am curious as to why but I like the darker version better.
