Paul,

I don't think they're the chrome clad. I had those on my Charger. The sticker for the Ram says "Aluminum Polished/Silver Inserts." Is it safe to apply wax to these?

I actually just checked them out...they look like aluminum...no clear coat.

Just in case anyone stumbles upon this thread in a search, I found out from the dealer today that the "Aluminum Polished Rims" DO have a clear coat on them..."Brushed Aluminum Rims" DO NOT have a clear coat...take it for what it's worth.

And in some cases, optically clear sealants and coatings can be used on everything except your tires.
