Default Successful Mirror Swap! PICS

Another member and I did a successful mirror swap this morning. We swapped mirrors and modules. Our door control buttons we kept due to him having a single cab and I have a crew cab. Everything works great, I no longer have power fold mirrors which is no big deal, he doesn't have power fold yet until he gets the new door buttons but lights, power, heat and temp sensor all work great! Pics below!

Before

The modules that needed to be switched

The end results, kind of dark but you get the idea.

Better picture of my truck

the question I have is can you do this 'to' a set of 2014 towing mirrors

these are the ones with the small section on the outer edges that adjusts independently

these mirrors are not quite as long as the ones you see on the 3/4 and 1 tons but still make getting in and out of some garages and car ports a slow procedure

I would like to able to do this, I really could not believe it when I discovered by new truck did not have power folding mirrors

I mean really this is the 21st century here chryco

The mirrors I swapped to are the towing mirrors? The ones with the independent smaller mirror...Everything swaps fine...you just won't have power folding TOW mirrors simply because there is no electronic motor installed in those. It's not that they CAN'T do it...they (RAM designers/Chrysler) for some reason hasn't put the same power folding mechanics in the tow mirrors as they did in the regular sport mirrors. Just make sure your mirrors you get are for a 2013+ model year and up...

I have news for you, the word is that the guy who got the standard power folding mirrors will not have the power folding part functioning.

At least that's what I have been told, they say its a software/programming thing.

I know, sounds crazy but thats the deal supposedly.

Now if you get em to work please let us know.

This swap was almost a year ago guys...I don't remember who I did the swap with. He was a member on here, I'm not sure if he ever got the power fold option to work or not. He wasn't concerned with it so...both of us were happy.
