Jim - you could take your truck to JiffyLube (or similar) at your current mileage and have synthetic oil installed if you aren't in a situation to put the stuff in yourself.
You won't see any actual HP increase but synthetic oil is really great stuff.
Minimal engine wear, cold weather starts, extended drain intervals WITH good filters.
Get modern and the truth is ANY current synthetic engine oil brand
(and no garbage FRAM Orange oil filters) at the auto chains is perfectly good motor oil.
