Unhappy Depression :(

Anyone else in the northern part of the continent going through the sad realization that winter has set in and you can no longer spend the after-work & weekend hours washing and polishing your Ram to perfection? My wife just pointed this out to me tonight by saying: " See? you are just twiddling your thumbs while looking out the window at the truck." Oh, the AGONY! How many days until spring??

That realization came about a month ago, you know, when we had that lovely -36C weather. Though, we had a Chinook (big warm wind) roll through this week so I was able to do a few mechanical things, but washing/waxing won't happen for another 6 months at least.

It's not just y'all in the northern expanses of the country that get the winter time blues, haven't had a day here since last Friday where we even cracked 55, we've already had a freeze past couple of nights. I know that's probably shorts weather for some lol but I am SO not a cold weather person! I miss being outside during the day and in the evening/on days off. Sucks being stuck inside but time to hibernate til spring!

Damn, it's even been too cold in Texas to do anything. This is a sad season. I am depressed! Thanks, Paul! Way to bring a brother down during the most wonderful time of the year.... maybe in Australia where it's nice and warn. Actually, got a friend down under and she says it's miserably hot. Probably too hot to work on... oh damn, now I'm doubly bummed out. And my happy place is outside in the In-Laws driveway, way up in Kansas, freezing his giblets off. Oh unhappy day.

Yup. The time of year that I drive to work in he dark and then drive home from work in the dark is the worst! Makes working on anything at night a real task. Pretty much only leaves the weekend to wash and detail. Then obviously the weather makes washing a waste of time during most of the winter.

This past week I finally bought a really good 1500 Lumen LED shop light so I can still work on my truck at night when needed. It worked wonders last night when I was underneath my truck. Can't believe I didn't buy one years ago!

1500 Lumen LED? Care to share the details? I can always use another shop light.

Thumbs down

I can totally relate to this thread. Seeing my RAM get so dirty only after a couple of days sickens me. Every morning there just has to be a couple cm's of snow so down goes the salt (or whatever else they through on the road). Oh how I long for spring time.

Yup... Just checked the box and it's actually 1600 Lumens. It's a Snap On LED work light just like the one shown in this link http://www.ebay.com/itm/SNAP-ON-LED-...-/221326789053.

I couldn't find an actually link to Snap Ons site for it right now so that's the best I've got. I bought mine at Costco up here in Canada for $40. Like I said, it works amazing, ridiculously bright. Plus it doesn't get hot so you can always touch it and move it around however you need to.

Thanks, Brandon! Costco is carrying Snap On now? I reckon they want in on some of the big box sales too. I'll check my local Costco and see what they've got.

Yes my local Costco seems to have one or two different snap on products a year. A few years ago we got a Snap On retractable extension chord with a trouble light. Last year I know they had a 4ft long power bar and now this year they have the work light I got as well as a cordless trouble light.

Since our Costco's up here are owned by the US company I would assume you have the same stuff but you never know. From what I've seen there is quite a difference in the layout and products of US Costco's that I've been in compared to our Canadian ones
