I have the Mopar hard folding cover on my truck and guess what, It has frozen shut 3 times already and winter hasn't even officially begun. I also slide a screwdriver between the tailgate and strip to get it open.

Maybe someone will invent a 12 volt heat-gun that would plug into the trailer plug-in. That would be handy huh?

pretty sure its because of the angle of the tailgate. the top of the tailgate slopes into the bakflip seal. nice place for water to pool up and freeze overnight.

Good one but, I'm not standing out there in the cold running a heat gun

How about heater strips along the tailgate seal?

Dont have a bak flip but have had rubber seals frozen on other things. try spraying the seals with a good silicone lube. this has worked for me.
