It is an option and can be turned off in your settings, I think its called "Auto On Comfort" something like that.
This is correct. I just had to make a setting change on my 2013.

If its 40 or below the heated stuff comes up its a convience feature.. Which is great it's there if u remote wart the truck.. By the time u get there truck is nice n toasty.. If u don't want it u can turn it off in the settings in the radio. But I would leave it on.... My wife loves that shit......

I think they are suppose to come on either when it is cold (heated seats and wheel) or when it is hot (vented seats cool) automatically when using the remote start. You can also turn them on every time you manually start the truck as everyone is saying by going to "comfort add-on" and checking the proper line. My problem is my seats and wheel come on when I manually start my truck with out that option "checked off". In fact if I try to check it the check mark will come on for 3 sec. then it will disappear. Anyone else have this problem? Its sure nice to have on cold mornings but it gets old awful quick when I stop the truck for 2 min. when everything is already nice a toasty and then have the seat and the wheel fire up again when its not needed.
