First of all nothing will help you on pure ice except spikes or chains. On snow covered or partially covered roads of course it will help you but like the others said don't let it get you over confident. Drive for the conditions no matter what kind of vehicle you are driving at the time and you should have no problems.
I have driven rear wheel drive, front wheel drive all wheel drive and 4wd in the snow and ice. I use the same common sense driving techniques no matter what i am driving. Again use this technology (LSD, traction control) as an aid to your driving skills not as a crutch for bad driving habits.
