Default 1st RAM 1500 - mod suggestions?

Hello all!

On Friday I purchased a beautiful, loaded 2014 Laramie Longhorn 4x4. I've got a ton to learn about all the features, but so far I'm really happy.

What are some of the best mods to perform?

I'd like to gain more HP/MPG while still keeping the truck relatively quiet in the cabin.

I've ordered the K&N cold-air intake kit, and was looking at exhaust option.s The mufflers look huge, but I'm wondering if there is really much to be gained. Also, and chip/tuning options that actually work?

Please let me know from your experience what mods are worthwhile for the 5.7L Hemi.

Thanks!

Congrats on the new Ram. Mine is an 05, so a lot of things have changed, but I have Borla cat back and it not only looks and sounds good, it gave me a few more dyno rwhp. One thing that makes a big hp gain= nitrous. Tank fits under back seat nicely. If you do a stealthy install, nobody will ever know, not even dealer. Hide the solenoids, and cover the ss feed lines with electrical split loom, put a push button and arming switch in console or dash, and bingo. A few tricks to spray, but I've sprayed massive amounts thru my hemis, Ram close to 200,000 miles and Magnum almost 300,000 miles! Imagine the expression on the guy with the Mustang GT or Camaro when you whoop his butt in the quarter mile. Keeps em wondering, wtf just happened.

Welcome djhartm!! Im pretty new to the board myself, and that is a FINE looking Ram you have there... I have the same model and color!! I just installed a Moroso catch can, and in reading here is one of the more popular mods, while not gaining any power, will help keep your engine running better in the long run. Enjoy that new truck and take care!!

I just finished detailing her; such a beautiful truck!

Q: Is there a way to determine when the MDS is active?

Thanks!
