Default 9006 bulb doesn't fit??

Ok, so I was going to switch out my current 5K HID bulbs in my fogs for a set of 6K to match my headlights. The current bulb in there now is a 9006 and locks in and fits perfectly. I ordered another set of 9006 bulbs and they didn't lock in correctly? I thought maybe a fluke so I ordered another set from another vendor. Same thing, the 9006 isn't locking into place like it should and the bulb is still kind of loose. My current 9006 bulbs fit perfect. Any ideas? I don't want to keep wasting money trying to get the right color temp bulbs that don't fit

Switch the rubber O-RINGS on the bulbs. That should tighten up the bulbs.

Sometimes it's the simple things that allude us.

Does it come forward and backwards, up and down? Just wondering how exactly it's loose. I have 9006 bulbs (6K) in my fogs and I want to get 5K bulbs. The ones I got from HIDSRUS fit fine, no issues. They don't move. Take the bulbs out and take a look to see if something looks off, tabs or rubber part etc... Only thing I can think of.

The only way I can describe it is you know how when you twist in the bulb to lock it in? Well these new bulbs, when you twist them, they don't snug down like the current ones do. And the way they sit, the whole bulb will bounce/move going over any type of bump. I do notice that the 3 tabs that you have to insert a certain way into the fog lamp, those tabs are smaller than the current light. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but both of my replacement sets (from 2 different companies) are that way

The only way I know of is to get thicker O-RINGS. The tabs on the bulbs should be the same size and in the same location on all the bulbs.

You have 3 different bulbs to compare, so you should be able to see what the difference is between them.

I had to put the O-RINGS from the 9600 Halogen bulb on my 9600 HID bulbs to make them fit tighter.

Hope you figure it out.

Greg

Where did you order the HID lights from? Like gcscott said all 9006 bulb tabs should be the same size. When I put mine in I never did move the o-ring from the halogen light to the HID. Mine seem to be in there alright. If it warms up a bit this weekend I'll take a look at the bulbs in my truck's fog lights again.

Well, all of my bulbs came from ebay dealers. But the original set I got had no issues. Just these 2 other pairs for some reason. Maybe just a fluke and i got the wrong bulb size....twice!
