Do both... You'll be happier. One or the other won't make much difference

If amplification of the sound you have now is your main agenda....

A CAI will supplement what you have nicely. Especially an open-mouth or a sealed with a drop-mouth [scoop type]. Or purchased a closed-box [sealed] intake and remove the cover. Remember though that a CAI will do nothing at idling or "normal" driving to the sound you yearn. It's under WOT that you'll get the results.

A resonator delete will, almost, always induce unwanted and dreaded drone while slightly amplifying the sound you currently have. A resonator delete may also alter the current tone you now enjoy [more of a raspy tone].

Doing both, as HRH mentioned, will probably be your best route, taking into consideration your quest for more volume.

Remember this: sound, by it's very nature, in terms of what frequency your can identify/hear and how loud it is, is incredibly subjective and, therefor, can differ immensely from one person's interpretation/identification to another person's.

Good luck.

Idk how magnaflows are when removing the resonator, but when I removed the resonator and ran new pipe to a 5" tip back on my flowmaster super 44, it made my truck sound a beast killing machine.. I love it. A CAI adds the sound under throttle, but when idling it won't do anything. If you want just louder all around, I would say go with removing the resonator. That and CAI would be prime, but if you are limited to just one, resonator first.

Also, what is your magnaflow? I think 18" is the loudest one.

14" is the loudest one. Though generally people go with the 18" or 22" becuase they like the sound more.

+1 on above posts, and....
Try removing 1 resonator first, see how you like it. Too quiet? Take other one off.
Old school exhaust trick, one glasspack style muffler/resonator longer than the other one. You get 2 sound tones mixed together. It does work.

I deleted my resonators and it didn't induce any drone... I actually think that it cleaned up the sound quite nicely by giving me a more of a defined sound as opposed to just being loud.... That is my experience but keep in mind sound is subjective, However I am very please with the results and will do it again.

I would start with the resonator delete (since its the cheaper option) report on your results and if you're still looking for more then get the CIA.

one thing I was worried about removing resonators was getting drone.
