I got it earlier today and immediately loaded the 87 octane tune. The trans tuning is what you notice right away. It holds gears longer and seems to allow the 4.7 to play within its powerband much better. I have 3.92 gears with a LSD so anything other than a chirp is a bit difficult but...once off the line you can REALLY tell a difference. The engine doesn't bog down like it does in stock tuning, it pulls hard! I also played around with the data logging but the one parameter I really want, transmission temp, isn't available with the basic unit. I'll upgrade to the transmission tuning soon and then I'll have that plus the ability to manage torque management. I can't wait! So far so good though.

Nice report, I've noticed the same things as well. Even the 87 tune give much tighter response over stock.

Wait till you try the 93 performance tune, you will have a huge smile on your face, I know I did, they say for my year and truck with the 4.7 - 61 extra ponies I really like it, but with winter around after this tank I will move to the Fuel economy tune till the spring.

I was playing with the data logging and I found the trans oil temp parameter but it doesn't show anything when I select it to be monitored. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Installed the 93 performance tune last night....WOW! The truck just wants to pull! I'm loving it! I gotta drive 200 miles tomorrow and I'm wondering if it would really be beneficial to use the mileage tune or if I should keep the performance tune. It seems to do more with less throttle so maybe that will translate into better economy.

Don't know, have not tried the fuel saver tune yet, but ya, the 93 tune is really nice, Safe trip. Funny but I would put the fuel Saver tune on a 200 mile run when I would be on my way back, run the 93 to go to see how it behaves, then fill tank with 87 and come back on the Fuel saver see how it then does. Just an Idea

I hate to say this because I love superchips but I have found a few (maybe several) of the datalogging parameters that don't function. I think since it's the 4.7 which is on the sidelines to the hemi they didn't quite work out all the bugs. I love the tuner just for the performance gains, plus the advanced trans tuning, plus all the extras. It's a win win win. I used to use the 93 tune but ended up settling on the 87 performance tune because I hated retuning if I was hauling, towing, etc. Now what I do is use the 87 tune with 87 octane for daily driving, then if I haul/tow heavy loads I fill up the tank with 89 or 91 octane and am good to go. It doesn't pull QUITE as good as with the tow tune but it works well and seems to get the same mpg as the tow tune. This way I never have to retune and I save a few cents on gas with daily driving.

I just towed about 6000lb saturday (with another 1000lb in the bed) on the 87 perf tune. I had about 1/4 tank of 87 and put another $50 of 89 in the tank. Pulled it great.

Tighter response as in gear changes tighter?

Not sure what you mean....
