Default flowmaster comparison...please

i didnt do my research
i went to the muffler shop and had them put in an original 40 series muffler...

i told him i did not want the super 10 because i thought it might be a tad too loud..

so i THOUGHT the 40 series were the ones that were right below the super 10s (when it comes to loudness), but after doing research, I've heard the the super 44s are the second loudest and the the 40 series are a close 3rd...

so my question is...
what is the SECOND loudest flowmaster muffler? (Flowmasters website says the super 44 is the "most aggressive sounding" muffler...but does that mean it is louder? or just sounds different?)

second question..
if the super 44 IS the second loudest, then will it be NOTICEABLY louder than the original 40 series i have on there now? Or will it be such a small difference that I'd never know?

thanks in advance

I think it comes down to, do you like the way it sounds now? If yes, then why worry about changing it. If not, the go ahead and get one of the other mufflers you're looking at and put that in. You can probably keep the old one and resell it and make some money back.

It's hard to say without having the exact truck there and being able to listen to each of the mufflers in person.

I will tell you my Flowmaster 40 Delta flow was plenty loud for me.

The 44 is thicker and smaller than the 40 so you won't hear it as much on the inside I have the flowmaster 10 dumped and its not to loud to me, and if you drive in just 8 cyl mode its really quit if your not getting on it.

Disturbed69 will become famous soon enough
Default flowmaster

I have the super 40. I love it. Some say it's loud but I'm not behind my truck as its driving. Will try to make a sound clip.

The 44 is a bit louder then the 40. Both are still going to be loud. I noticed once I removed my resonator, that my exhaust got a lot louder then when the resonator was there. I am uploading a startup video of my truck right now, so will post in a few..But here is the flowmaster sound chart.

the 10 is louder. i have basically the same thing, single chamber cherry bomb extreme and i love it. fairly quiet on the highway and loud as hell when you want it to be. i switch from a 2 chamber like the 40 and it was very noticable. no regrets at all

I'll be getting a super 10 on Friday...
I'm keeping everything stock...even the resonators..then, if it's not loud or raspy enough I'll remove the resonators...YEE
