Default Emission Test with Tuner

It's time to renew my registration and I need an emission test, so my question is, do I need to return to stock tune to pass emissions or is it okay to do the test with the tune installed? First year with tuner and don't know if the state's equipment will detect the installed tune and fail the test. Thanks.

You should be fine. The only state that programmers/tuners are frowned upon is in Cali. There shouldn't be any hiccups at all for you!

do they plug anything to your obd port to check readiness state of all your sensors? If you have any custom tuning done that turns off the rear 02 sensors (for some of us), you'll need to either change that tune or go back to stock for testing..

Do they have strict emission like me in NY? Like Fred said if you have o2 issues and they turned the o2 off you will need them to turn it on. Or if you did the EGR shut down or anything custom tuning with most stuff like that off you need to have them put on. But if you have basic bolts on with a regular tune you should be fine.
