Default Ram 1500 2014

I. Am still pretty new to all this and I was wondering if anyone new if having a automatic starter installed voids warranty in any way? Is there any recommendations? I would like a stater that the remote will tell me it's on or off.

Thanks 2014 ram 1500 4x4 crew cab V8 5.7l hemi

I dont have an answer for you however I would check with someone at your dealership.....From what I am being told.....Any modification that is added to your vehicle may void your warranty......Apparently it is just easier to say that this added item contributed to an issue that you may be having and they will not cover it....Thats what I have been told in Canada.....Now with you being in the United States it is more than likely different......You guys have some pretty good legislation in effect that protects vehicle purchases......

Once you do find out please let us know.......

Thanks......

Default Answer From the Dealer

I spoke with the dealer ship:

They say if you have them install the only they offer it will not void anything. The one they have is only good for like 150ft and they give you two more keys for your truck they add on the starter button, so now you have 2 keys that work without auto start and 2 more keys with auto start and he said all the keys are linked to your vin.

But if you get a after maket installed from someone else it will not void anything UNLESS they can track it back to that unit and say hey who ever installed this wired this incorrect cause this to happen not covered now but they need to prove it.

So maybe get the crappy one they offer until warrnty is done then get a sweet one lol.

Well at least you got some info from the dealer......The only other option is to take it out if anything should ever happen to the truck before taking it to the dealer.....I would do some research to see how many issues may have been as a result of auto start installs....I cant see too many however with that said my buddy had one installed and it effected his lights and wipers.....Good luck and let us know what you go with.....
