Default reccomendations for 6.5 components and sub box

Hey guys, Im looking to overhaul my sound system and want some advice. I have the 7 speaker infinity system, im looking to remove and add some 6.5 components up front and a 6.5 coaxial set in the rear. What do you guys reccomend? Also, does anybody know of any pre-fab sub boxes that will fit a 3rd gen Quad cab>?

Look at fox acoustics or netaudio for the sub box. I like the netaudio better because they're not a screw on pod like the fox acoustics box.

If you're going to replace the speakers then I would highly recommend putting an amp in to power them. You can get the best speakers in the world and they will still sound like crap when being powered by the stock amp. I've had very good success with the JL C5 650 components in the front and the C3 525 coax in the rear being powered by a JL slash v2 400W amp. Crisp and clear. What kind of budget are you working with for the build, that will determine what you can put in.

I'd start with a 5 channel amp then. With your budget I'd look at the Alpine PDX-V9 ($500). Couple that with a JL 10W3v3 (~$240) then follow that with a set of JBL MS-62C ($170) and JBL P662 ($85) that puts you $5 over your $1000 budget.

I always recommend spending your money on the sub and amp then the speakers. Both those JBL will run at 2 ohm and the amp can handle 4 channels at 2 ohm plus the amp at 500W. It'll be a system with some nice bump without losing the sound clarity. I took all prices from sonicelectronix, so look around for better deals on all the parts. There's lots of other combos but that's how I'd go.

Ah, gotcha. For me it would be JL C5 650s all around or Focal PS165s. Both are excellent speakers and the PDX amp will run everything nicely.

as far as a sub box goes i had a pre fab box from car audio factory.. t was the box i cold find with the most amount of air space.. some will say that a straight box is not that good but i was running a true 2400 watts at 1 ohm and never blew the seal of the box.. it also comes with crates over the speakers so you don't have to raise the back bench.i had my amp under the drives seat, and the capacitor the pas seat. (didn't know about the real seat fold down mod yet) and the box is a great price for what it is...

I personally like the Infinities series. as far as the box if you have a center jump seat here is what I went with. switched out the center jump seat for a sub box found on the web and I installed a Pioneer sub best decision I made and if I really need the seat in case of an emergency it can still be used. And I did not lose my storage under the rear seats.
