Arrow Gearing (4.10 vs 4.56)

I have a 2012 Ram express with towing package with stock Gears... (don't know what they are) with 6 inch lift and 35's on 20's. I'm looking into Gearing either 4.10 and 4.56's... Well I've searched alot of forums and sites about the 2 gears.. I've read alot about them and people saying don't even think about 4.10 just go with the 4.56's. What are you guys getting for MPG at 70-75 with these gears (i'm getting avg 13 right now)? because I do alot of highway and city traveling, which I also drive 1300 miles sometimes. How much time did it take the mechanic to fit the 4.56 in the axle because I heard that they have to do some grinding? but this is all word of forums... I don't hardley tow, maybe just a car trailer or a 6x12 enclosed uhaul trailer. But this gearing is mainly for everyday driving and once in awhile towing. (I'm a new member as well so ) The terrain I drive is kind mountainish as well.. I live in New Hampshire and I drive to Arkansas every once in awhile so anything is helpful.

You have done a lot of research so you know it isn't just an easy gear swap. There are many threads on here about changing out gears on the 2012's. If you have 4X4 I think most have had to buy the front of a 2011 to put the new gears in. Not sure but I think that is what I have read.

It's looking like I'm going to have to stay with 4.10's since there isn't going to be a good way to actually get 4.56's... I would love to have 4.56's but it's looking like to much of a risk get stuff welded and etc and my luck the weld breaks or something happens...

Question….do you have 3.55 or 3.92?
If 3.92, there is minimal to no point in spending $$ to bump up to 4.10
If 3.55, then it would be worth it

So what have you?

x2. That was my question. Swap out 3.55s. Don't even bother if you have 3.92

Keep us posted.
But more than likely if you're not sure... You probably have 3.55
But I have been surprised from a few members that have found out that they did in fact have 3.92

Will do, it seems kinda sluggish add hangs around at low rpms a lot and likes to downshift a lot .... Quite annoying...
