Default Headlights with amber strip

I have a 2008 Ram 1500. I have been looking at aftermarket headlights for my Ram, but I'm running into a problem that a lot of the headlights I'm interested in have written in their ad " Does Not Fit RAM With Amber Colored Bar In Headlight". I have looked at other trucks that are just like mine and a lot of them don't have that amber strip. I'm trying to find out "why" would it not fit.
I have looked at pictures showing headlights with the amber bar and the ones without(front and back-side of the housing) and I do not see any difference visually. Also, does anyone know why some have that amber strip and some don't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Tim

I only have one answer to your many questions.

In 2006 the Ram was redesigned in the front and interior. In 06 this was the headlights were redesigned and they have this amber strip on the bottom.

In 2007 the headlights were redesigned again removing that strip. They also changed the tail lights to the round ugly one's, in my opinion.

2008 No changes to the truck other than the redesign of the 4.7 V8

If there are any actual dimension changes? I don't know.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm still trying to find out if there is a dimensional or fitment deference between the amber strip and non-amber. I may just order the pair of headlights anyways and then I will know.

There is no difference in fitment. The 2006 Nightrunner edition headlights have the amber strip and are a popular edition to the 2007 and 2008 rams which do not have that strip. The strip has an opening where the marker/turn signal light bulb attaches. If you wanted to illuminate it on an 07 or 08 you would need to mod the wiring harness.

Thank you for your response mrfblack08larami. I went ahead and ordered a pair of headlights without the strip, a few weeks back, and like you said they fit just fine. Thanks again.
