Default My 05 Ram... lasted longer then 2 girlfriends!!

I just wanted to share my story with you fine fellows. Back in 2006 I purchased the last 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi on the lot with 16 miles on it... fast forward... It now has 203,000 miles... and it runs as perfect as the day I bought it. That probably does not deserve a thread but this is interesting: I had never had a mechanical issue and the transmission shifts as smoothly as the day I bought it. Heck, I've never added coolant to the radiator, I have never even changed the spark plugs and it's passed 2 smog checks, no problem. The only money I have ever put in it is: brakes, tires, battery, refrigerant, stereo, brake light bulbs, (oh yeah, left front bearings once). It has survived different 3 minor/moderate accidents, many overloaded trailer trip to Glamis and 2 live-in girlfriends (and I am only counting the one with multiple personalities once!) My truck is the most reliable piece of machinery I have ever owned and I have owned Toyotas, Nissan, Hondas and Chevies... in fact, before owning my Ram, i used to be a Chevy man. The only reason I even purchased is because it was on sale (special order that never was picked up). It's a Big Horn Edition and sticker was 36k, I paid 24k. I can never say "nothing good ever happens to me". ***Smiles***

It's great to hear that your RAM has served you above and beyond the call of duty. To address the RAM having lasted longer than 2 girl friends I would say, with that many miles put on the truck in approximately 7 years, you may not be spending enough time at home.

Trucks are not the only thing that needs servicing. WELCOME!

Thanks for sharing. Just goes to show that if you treat your truck right, maintain it properly and whatnot, it will treat you right in return. There is no such guarantee with women.

Wow - good story and a great reliable truck. I purchased my 2003 RAM 4x4 Hemi brand new and gave it to my father in 2011 when I bought my new RAM - it's still going strong with 155,000 km. Never been in an accident and still looks like almost new. I am meticulous with maintenance though and no real issues other than 1 front bearing assembly replacement. Have done the rad flush, diff fluides, etc. as required. The 2003 will be in our family as long as we can keep her.

It's ok though... they sucked more money out of me that my Ram did!
