I've been checking out this cover and like the fact that it takes up a relatively small amount of space, is easy to install and remove and the cost is low compared to other retractable covers. I realize it's an "entry level" model and doesn't have the features of the higher priced models. I've only been able to locate a couple reviews (one positive, one mediocre). Does anyone have any experience or feedback on this cover?

Thanks

I found a really great article on the Pace Edwards. Don't shoot me for sending you to a Ford Forum, but he covers the products installation, water proof, and quality.

Thanks for the reply Tom. It looks like the link was edited (maybe because it included the name of another forum?) and wouldn't work, but I did stumble across this review in a search. Very informative. Thanks again.

Nice looking cover if I didn't already have the BAK G2 I may have gone with this. I liked the roll up design but the G2 fit the budget at the time compared to the retractable covers when I got mine

After 11 years with a Pace Edwards Jackrabbit on my last truck, I just ordered a switchblade for the Longhorn (from Autoanything, BTW.) I did a fair amount of research before making my purchase since I've been out of the loop for so long, and while there are a lot more choices out there now, the switchblade looks like the best choice for me.

My opinion of Pace Edwards after 11 years is nothing short of "Very Impressed." I've had the "Zip-lock" and velcro covers before... never again! As of two days ago from this post, the Jackrabbit still worked perfectly with no separation of the vinyl from the aluminum panels. The only "damage" was some crystallizing of the plastic lock knob and peeling powdercoat from the exposed lock barrel (the Switchblade does not have a lock - not an issue with a locking gate.) The Jackrabbit was perfect for my longbed hauling a 30ft trailer to Nascar races. The 12" lock increments allowed me to load items taller than the bed near the gate while keeping items closer to the cab reasonably dry in highway speed downpours. I don't see that same need with a 5'7" bed and no camper now.

I seriously considered the Peragon M3, but after seeing a youtube showing how much water was in an owner's bed after a rainstorm it was out of the running. Folding covers leave me very concerned about highway-speed hauling when partially open or freezing up in winter and becoming unusable. I operated the Jackrabbit in sub-zero temps on multiple occasions, fully expecting the vinyl to either crack or separate... nope! Occasional cleaning, UV protectant and a little Vaseline on the sweep seals was all it needed.

So, the Switchblade appears to to be the same basic construction as the Jackrabbit (interlocking aluminum panels, much like the rolling doors on your favorite beverage truck) so I expect the same durability and functionality as my vintage cover. And with the base price and potential promo codes offered by Autoanything (search their site.. you'll be happy you did!), I cannot recommend this product enough!

Any questions, feel free to PM me. I'm happy to share the love.

Tom,

What can you do for me on a Jack Rabbit cover for a 14 Ram with an 8' bed?

Thanks,
Don

They never answered my question. I bought the Jackrabbit form Pace Edwards. It came standard with a lock.
