Default How hard was it for you to pick your wheels?

It's been a nightmare for me. Settled on two that I like and every time I'm ready to call and order I change my mind and like the other set. For me it makes it hard not actually seeing them in person on a truck side by side.

How did the rest of you pick? Was it love at first sight? Or did you have a few you liked and just picked one and hoped you liked the result? Or are you still trying to make up your mind? Never thought it would be this hard lol

oh it's definitely hard. I ended up with just the cheapest black wheels I could find. I don't mind them, I'd like them better if they were the all black ones (after seeing another members truck with them). SO basically it came down to price in the end.

it helps to narrow it down:

black or chrome or chrome/black
number of spokes
big logo, designs
simple, busy
street or offroad

now I already want different ones. something more simple. i want mickey thompson classic IIIs.

these are what I have now, I dont really care for them anymore. it was a heat of the moment purchase just to get a new wheel/tire combo at a cheap price.

The Mickey T MTZ / Classic III would look very nice on your truck.

Still trying to decide actually. I'm not going to settle until I'm sure I like them.

My wheels and tires choices took months and was a life or death decision. I looked at probably 100 different rims comparing looks and prices with what I wanted and tires was hell. I knew for sure I wanted 17" black rims, and tires I originally wanted 33" A/T's, which slowly changed to 35.. and then 35" m/t's. After going through the Z lookin at peoples builds, reviews and picking away peoples minds and asking for advice from members (espcially Grubrunner, Brandjansen and FastNugly, and also gonefishin776 for help on 17" rim offset questions) I decided on the Toyo open country m/t. Loved the looks and everything about them. I even started second guessing my choices of tires the day before ordering, but got help and advice about the other tires I looked at, and stuck with the Toyo's.

My original Rims I wanted were a different XD rim, but they discontinued them for 1500 rams, so I had to count them out. I eventually narrowed it down to 3 rims, and just sat and stared at ten billion pics of them on trucks and matched with the Toyos. I did really like the fuel rims, but did not find it worth the price different of my XD addicts.
In the end, I beleive I made the perfect decision for myself and I love the set up on my rig. Here is a pic of my 17" XD addicts with -12 offset wrapped in 35/12.50/17 Toyo Open Country M/T.

That's where I'm at, trying to stare at photos lol. You would think having a black ram and trying to decided between 2 black XD wheels the photos on here and Google would be endless, surprisingly they are few and far. I'm running 275/65/20's and the truth is most pics are of trucks with 35 m/t's. It's having the smaller, skinnier tire that making it tough for me I guess.....

Nice looks trucks you guys have posted!!

Thanks a lot , what are the rims that you are looking at? I can see if I can dig anything up.

And ya I just happened to get lucky with the tire/rim combo I desired with their a lot of 35 m/t pics.

I wish you the best of luck kind sir lol

The ones I'm almost 99% ready to pull the trigger on are the XD crank in all black 20x9. I'm running 275/65/20 Toyo at's. I've found alot of pics with 35 mudders but only one truck running that tire size. And even that truck didn't have all black cranks but rather the machine face ones. I'm real curious as to how much of the brake rotor you will see through those and the stance will the skinny tire..

My.other concern.is the color, the truck.is.one shade of black (brilliant black) the tires are a different form of black and then the rims will be a third variation of black.

The XD Cranks were actually in my top 10 lol.. With them being a 20" rim.. You will see a lot of the rotor, even the 17" show off quite a bit. The stance of the truck all depends on the offset of the rim. Do you want them popping out, or tucked in nicely?
