Default exhaust tips

So I have an 11. With the hemi. And I have deleted the muffler. But kept the resonators. And stock tips. But I have heard and read on here. That different tips or 5 inch tips will change the sound. In what ways will it change? Deeper? I'm confused and always wondered. Or if somebody has a sound clip or something that would be perfect. Thanks

Actually there is an easy explanation.

If you look at the stock tips there is a bit of pipe that goes into the tip. The stock tips are not straight through like the 5" tips you keep hearing about on the magnaflow systems.

So the stock tips actually help to muffle a bit of sound. When you add 5" tips you are really just giving more direction to the sound so it seems louder.

I will admit my flowmaster muffler seemed louder after adding 5" tips.

How loud was it in the cab cruising at 55 and 70+ ? I have a magnaflow 14" and the cab isnt to bad until I get around 70+. I am also in process of getting 5" tips if it's not to bad.

My wife hates it. But I dont think mine is bad at all but I have no muffler. Does it change the tone at all?

I was surprised that the new Mufflex 5" exhaust tips changed the sound of my exhaust. It sounds better to me.

What all have you done to your exhaust? The in cab sound, did it get noticeable louder or just the sound changed?

I have a 14" mufflex. When I added the magnaflow y pipe, the tone got deeper, not louder.
5" tips made it noticeably louder, but not too much drone when cruising at hwy speeds.

Hope this helps
