Default First Oil Change. What to do?

Hi all,
5000 miles and looking at my first oil change. I want to go full synthetic. Any suggestions?
What other check ups should I have done?
So far the only complaint I have is the vibration around 60mph.
Also it seems my traction control is not working as it seems one wheel spins out quickly on ice.

I'll be keeping this truck for a LONG time, so an PM suggestions welcome.

Thanks!

My first oil change was at 5000kms and I went with Amsoil and a Napa gold filter. If your doing it yourself the factory filter is a real bitch to get off.

Maybe someone can provide verifiable info that this is not a problem for the new Ram's, but based on long heard advice I don't think you want to run synth until you have a few oil changes under your belt with dino oil.

Myth.
Many new cars come from the factory with synthetic oil in the crankcase.
It is fine to run synthetic anytime, and switch back and forth between syn and conventional.
Keep in mind, most "synthetic" oils are super hydrotreated conventional base stock, not synthetic at all. (thanks to a Castrol lawsuit - synthetic is a marketing term, not a definition of base stocks used).

^^^^ what he said. I've had zero issues with my RAM. Went full Synth at 5k kms. Never looked back. Put full synth in frt and rear diffs as well.

I went pennzoil platinum from walmart, also registered for the pennzoil warranty. Pick your oil and walmart installs it for $11.00. I went with a fram synthetic filter too. Did the first at 3000 miles. Will do the next when the truck tells me.
