Default Recall didnt get fixed in time.

Well i know there was a bunch of posts about the pinon nut recall, but by the time they got mine in it was to late. so now the trucks been in the shop since last Thursday. they had to drop the rear end. order new bearings since they got ruined?

anyways im just wondering if anyone had the same issue? if so if there anything i should keep an eye out for after they fix it?

Mine (a 2010) failed three times and I had three ring and pinions done BEFORE they did the recall. In fact, I battled with Chrysler to put the damned retainer on when they rebuilt it each time, even though the recall was in the hopper but hadn't officially been announced. This is all before I ever towed a damned thing, etc. And then when they performed the recall, they claimed they didn't need to rebuild anything a fourth time - they just put the retainer on. On top of that, they used more RTV on the damned rear end cover than would have been needed on 10 covers - messy work.

So all in all, yeah, it's been a fun experience.

In early July 2013, my '09 Ram SLT 1500 Pinion Seal started to leak & was replaced, they left the leaked fluid on my frame & gas tank
7000 miles later, the Pinion Seal was leaking again & was again replaced

about 10,000 miles later, i started hearing a sound that was similar to running off road tires on a smooth concrete road, i was about 200 miles from home
By the time i was about 70 miles from home, it sounded more like metal being turned on a metal lathe
I took it into the dealership the next morning, the lady Service Writer asked me why i was there & i described the events of the previous day, she asked again why i was there.
I lost my cool & walked right into the Service Writers office & looked for someone with some brains, one of the other Service Writers that i have dealt with before was in there & i explained what i had experienced, he called the Tech that had done the 2 repairs that had failed & had him put my Ram on the rack & he pulled the inspection cover off & said that the bearings had all turned Blue from lack of fluid
He replaced all the ruined parts & they had just received the Recall Parts that week & they were installed

I sure hope that it was done correctly, i have not driven it more then 1,000 miles since it was repaired, time will tell
I am now at 100,200 miles on my odometer

My dad's drive shaft literally fell out if his truck as he was driving because he didn't get that recall fixed. Now it's at the dealership getting fixed for free.

I just had mine done today. Just put the new retainer in or whatever. Never had any problems before. Hope it stays that way.
