I don't know if I would call them fog lights in the first place. I like the both styles but I consider them more of a driving light especially with the colour they are coming they really reflect off of fog rather then cut through them

I think the 13 are much better. Everything about the 13 is better than the 09-12
RAM had 4 years to perfect the 4th gen and I think they nailed it with the 13-14

They match the flow of the projection headlights better. I prefer the new front... Looks more aggressive IMO.

I like the 13-14 fog lights. I also think the 09-12's are good looking. My truck's fog lights ('13 Big Horn) seem to work just like my wife's 2010 Chevy Equinox's lights. I don't think either one do a great job during foggy conditions. But, they do a good job throwing light directly in front of the truck and off to the side. I appreciate the side light, since we live in an area where there are no lights for about a 5 mile stretch (45 MPH) and is loaded with deer. They help light up the roadside ditches really well.

Here is a pic of my 2013 next to my dad's 2009 for comparison. Mine is a Lone Star, his is an SLT-both with fog lights. Having driven both at night with the fogs on I must say that there is no discernible difference in the light that they put out to the front, but it seems that mine throw out a bit more light to the side. I consider this a good thing because I use my fogs in rural areas with a lower speed limit to help watch for deer, pigs, songdogs, etc... on rural highways I use my brights. FWIW I think the newer lights look better at night when they're on- kind of mean and aggressive like fangs, but the older style look better during the daytime.

Come and look at my 3rd gen no rust although we don't get the winters you do so that could explain it a bit as no need for salt when they mainly used salt
