Default Lumens 35w 6000k canbus kit installed on my sport!!!

Bought this kit on dec 30th but until today it had been -20 and lower so I didn't get a chance to install plus I himmed and hawed about doing it and wanted to exchange the regular ballasts the kit came with for canbus ballasts. Well today it is 1 degree above freezing so I decided to install the kit. Total install time was about 2 1/2 hours but that included 2 sessions of YouTube to figure out how to get the grille and headlights out and a quick trip to the hardware store for longer zip ties. Now that I know how to get the grille and lights out and how to mount the ballasts I could probably do it in an hour. I opted to notch the back of the headlight cover like many others have done and silicone around the wires. I siliconed the back of the ballasts and zip tied them to frame members.

The goods.
Lumens 35w 6000 k hid kit with canbus ballasts
No harnesses.
Lights turn on fully very very quickly, NO FLICKERING, NO LAMP OUT, drls work fine, everything works fine so far - knock on wood.
9006 bulbs fit in the sockets perfectly without notching the tabs.

Lumens is Canadian made - total cost for the 9006 low beam kit locally was $153. I will probably lose sleep tonight so I can drive down back roads in the dark I will report back as I get more time with them to make sure everything is still good!!!

Will get some pics of the install up soon.

Went for a bit of a drive tonight, no flickering or anything like that but one thing I noticed is that when I turn the high beams on (high beams are still factory) my hid low beams stay on as well, I never noticed before when I had halogens in from factory if when switched to high beams the lows would just stay on??? Is this normal? It is bright as shit with the high beams on and hid low beams on but is that not too much power going through the main factory wiring harness??? I didn't run it with both on at the same time for any length of time. Can someone answer that and if it's not normal perhaps answer why it is now doing that. The hid kit I installed plugged into the factory low beam socket, it had no harness of its own. Besides that the low beams are brighter but I was expecting more, I am not entirely convinced that it was worth 153 bucks plus time plus Amy potential issues for the amount of light they give of. Having said that I think it is fairly obvious that the headlights are aimed quite low from factory and I will ask about that in another post.

No idea if the lows stay on with the highs, haven't turned my highs on since I installed my HID's in my lows and fogs. Mine throw out plenty of light to not needing highs.

Yes low beams stay on when high beams are switched on. I noticed this first time I checked to make sure all my lights work. Do this about twice a month.

Most trucks low beams stay on when the highs are on that use seperate bulbs for high and low! the fog lights will come off when the highs go on!

If you're so sceptical about hid's then take them out and return so you're not worried about it all the time! When you start modifying vehicles there's always the chance something isn't going to work right, but usually the only reason people have trouble with hid's is because they don;t know what they are doing and install the wrong stuff or don't install it correctly and then think it's the trucks fault when things go wrong! The odd time there is a faulty ballast from the manufacturer! If you have the right components, which it sounds like you do, and you installed them correctly then you will have no probems! Hope that helps

I am not worried about them I just didn't realize that they stayed on when you turn the highs on, I knew the fogs went out, my lat truck was an 04 so when you "clicked" the highs on the lows had to go out as it was dual filament. I guess with the stock halogens you couldn't really tell that both were on unless you actually got out of the truck to check. I believe the hids I bought are of higher quality and being Canadian made vs. China made helps reassure me that. You know as well as I do that electrical components for vehicles and equipment isn't generally returnable after being opened and used unless there are major issues with the product itself apart from installation issues. So far I am fairly happy with the hids, time will tell more.

Also I will report back as I get more time with them as it may help sway people either to get them or. It and how this specific kit is holding up as I know there are it of holes in the subject of hids on the 2013+ rams.

The projectors are bi-halogen.It has a cut off and solenoid. When you put the brights on the solenoid is energized and pulls the cut off down, revealing the whole bulb. When I installed a hid kit in my halogen projectors, the stock aiming was too low.

I adjusted the slightly, we went for a little ride down a dark back road and down the highway, the hids seem a bit brighter than stock halogens when on the dark back road at slow speed but on the highway higher speeds they aren't any better than the stock halogens, I am not exaggerating either. The one noticeable place that there is more light is when highs and lows are on together then the is much more light on the road. They look cool but that isn't what I was going for. My buddy told me that hid fogs make more of a difference than low beams not, not sure if that is true or not.
