Default Bully dog tuner questions

I'm getting the itch to do something new to my truck again... I've been thinkin about a tuner for it. Not to beat on it but for fuel milage and for towing power. How hard is it actually on the truck? Anyone blow up a tranny cause of this? An also wondering. If I buy a bully dog is it just plug and play or do I need to upload anything from a computer? I'm new to the tuner stuff I've had my truck for 2 years and said I'd never get one but maybe it's not a big deal.. Thanks in advance

I've been thinking of getting a tuner also. I've emailed and called Bully Dog several times in the past month, and they can't even give me a straight up answer to a question about their own damn tuner… their customer service and technical department is a joke.

i have had my BD tuner for about 3 months now and LOVE it! No problems or issues whatsoever. As far as gas mileage, I may have picked up about 6 tenths a gallon. Defiinitely can feel the difference in power and throttle response. Towing wouldn't know for I don't have anything to tow. You do have to hook it to a computer to update the tuner when new updates are available, no big deal though it's pretty easy. Good luck!

I had the exact opposite experience with their customer service. They answered all my questions. They were knowledgeable, helpful and easy to talk to.

Anyone get a straight answer on how many HP and how much torque you can expect from the Bully Dog Tuner?

I have a 2003 Ram 2500 with the Hemi and I purchased the Bully Dog GT Tuner. I like it overall, a good product, easy to install and no issues noted to date. As far as power and torque gains I can not put my finger on it. I am able to tell a slight difference on the Premium setting. If there are gains they are small or even unoticable. My favorite part with an older truck is being able to read, solve and clear any DTC's the truck may throw.

No. I didn't ask them about DTR's. I have no reason to ask them about DTR's. I did ask them about ease of use and Mac compatibility and a few other things though and they were, as I stated earlier, very helpful with my questions.

On the 2013 express you can't activate the DTR's. I took my to the dealer to have them turned on and it wasn't listed as an option in thier hand held unit. So that might be why they couldn't answer your question. I've never had a problem with them knock on wood.
