Default 50 software update

Ok, so I got the files and put the disc in. It updated the HDD files and then asked if I wanted to update the radio software to 50.00.07, I said yes and it said it was updading radio files for a while, then a screen came up on the status of update, stayed for about 30 sec and then went to the clock. I figured it was finished so I took the disc out. Still have the blue screen and when I look at the software info screen it's still the 30 software. Tried it twice. Anybody have the same problem?

Default software update

OK, so I guess I'll answer my own question again. When I burned the disc, I burned 2 of them. Evidently the first one was bad. Of course that's the one I used first. Just thought I would try the second one and it worked. Updated to 50.00.07. Yes, it was worth the effort! Looks so much better than the blue screen! Thanks to all that provided the software and info on how to do it!:smiley_thu mbs_up:

There is another uconnect update?
The latest version I see is UCONNECT® 8.4A-RA3 (13.48.3)...? Or am I looking at something different?

That is for the 8.4 radios and won't work on others.

ya the update that is out now is way better some things will piss you off if you are used to the blue back round color. but works way better. mine was giving me the message (display to hot nav. inoperable) after an hour or so or running time. haven't test on hwy yet but, it does freeze or stutter anymore. finally only took 6 updates

Question

Are these updates free or is chrysler getting us coming & going? The navigation I get cause roads change but a more functional system should be a freebee from the manufacturer.

How do you know if you need an update? I have the blue screen now. It was a 2012 used purchased this past October...

updates are free check with your dealer, at least at my dealer in Alaska. mine was giving a message of display to hot nav. inoperable. that's what I would tell your dealer your truck is doin

also if you have access to carfax it will tell you any open recalls on your truck. there are about 15 recalls on the 2012 some stupid but some one had a issue that the factory sees a problem

Where did you burn this disc? Per Uconnect website I have the 430 RBZ model radio (one with blue screen) which I assume all models in this year have, yet it tells me I have no update. Am I able to install a different system on this rather than keeping the plain ol system I have now?
