Default Differences between 2013 and 2014 Clusters?

I hear that there are a couple differences between the 2013 and 2014 instrument clusters? Anyone know the details or can you post some pics of your 2014 dash? I'm just curious to see what has changed?

i thought that depending on model your vehicle might not have the led screen i think its like 7 inches vs the regular evic that is not large, i saw some on the lot that had what looked like smaller screens where as on my truck it shows lots of info and you get the options to customize the mpg, whatever else you want to display on the screen in the center of the instrument cluster.

No difference. I owned a 2013 Bighorn and traded up for a 2014 Laramie.

Here is my old one.

And here is my new one.

Visually they look the same but I have read that the 14 cluster can display the selected gear as well as the current gear that you are driving in and also other possible gauges to display on the evic? I might be wrong but curious??

I believe you are right, my MY13 Laramie does not show the current gear, just the top gear selected by the steering wheel buttons.

My Laramie was in the shop last week and I had a MY14 RAM Big Horn loaner with the 5 inch screen. I noticed both the top gear and current gear were displayed.

I would think it should be just a software update that the dealer should be able to perform. The physical hardware is likely the same.

Seems like it should be a software update to display the gear number. Getting the dealer to update it is a problem. Unless Chrysler gives the go ahead they won't do it.

All you '13 owners need to tell Chrysler you want it as a software update. Rally the troops.

Where do you guys see these gears? I have a 2500 Laramie thats about 45 days old and haven't see them. Any particular screen, setup option? Build about Thanksgiving it shouldn't need any update. Thanks. Ed

I don't know if Range Selection works the same on a 6-speed. But if you press the +/- on the shifter. If your driving normally around town (not towing) select the highest gear.

If it works the same as an 8-speed, you will see.

P-R-N-Dx 6

The Dx, means your in drive, and it is showing what gear you are in (obviously x would be replaced with the gear number). The 6 means that 6th gear is the highest gear you want the transmission to go into.
