Got that - Thanks. Shows the manual selection. I misread and thought something showed as the gears changed. I'm thinking that would be useful towing.

I have not seen any display that shows the current gear, only the top gear selection when in manual shift mode.

Is there an update that will show me my current gear?? I have been wanting that since I had my 09!

Can anyone confirm this???

The way I understand it is that you need to press the + button until 8 shows on the display and then you will see the current gear to the left of the 8. 8 is displayed as the highest gear you want it to shift to.

As soon as I press the +/- buttons on the steering wheel, I see the current gear and the highest selected gear. I shows up right next to the D in the gear selection display at the bottom of the EVIC.

I saw this in the Tips & Tricks thread and tried it out on mine. When I first hit + or - it shows the current gear, then I use + to go up to 8. All I see is that 8, I never see the gear it is currently in. I know some trucks have the transmission with Tip Start, which I do NOT have, was wondering if this feature was tied to that version of the transmission.

I've noticed when I used the +/- buttons to get the gear display up that the ECO light no longer comes on. I know that ECO is not directly tied to MDS but I'm wondering if putting the transmission into this mode also disables MDS. Its really hard to feel when this thing is in MDS. Which is good since you could clearly tell in my Silverado!

tip start is not a transmission feature is for starting with tip start u dont have to hold the key to the start position to continue to crank only have to push to start momentarily and it will continue to crank till it starts

I realize this, but there are 2 versions of the transmission, on your build sheet it will say MAKE or BUY. The ones that say MAKE do not come with tip start. So somehow, the tip start feature is tied to the transmission. My V6 has the 845RE trans and does not have tip start.

Here's my cluster.. It's on a '14 Ram 3500 Laramie...

If you look carefully, you'll see it's showing that the transmission has access to all 6 gears but was in 4th gear...

BTW, if you're wondering, it's a Cummins with the Aisin transmission.. I had just filled up about 25 miles before hand... Tow/Haul activated and Exhaust brake on full.

I honestly thought they were exactly the same.
