Default line out converters

im adding a setup/system to my truck. 2 amps , 4 new speakers,4 subs. i dont wanna get into a fortune just to keep the factory head unit. im looking at an audiocontrol lc2i. i only need 2 outputs so i think its ok...any input on this? for what its worth the lc6i isnt too much more..but i dont need 6 outputs.want some feed back from anyone useing one. i have a cheap lineout coverter now and im not impressed with it much at all. for 2 10" mtx sledgehammers on a alpine mrp500 it should hit much better.

What kind of sub enclosures are you using? That makes a HUGE difference. It did for me. I finally matched the recommended ported box volume that the sub manufacturer recommended, and wow.

I'm using a Scosche LOC that I got from Wal-Mart, and it works great for my application.

Your subs are probably MTX MZS1004 models. MTX recommends:

Sealed Box: 0.75 cu. ft. each
Ported Box: 1.25 cu. ft. each

I would make sure that your box(es) meet MTX recommended volume. If not, then it doesn't matter what you do - your subs will not perform like they should.

I had my single 12 in a box that was smaller than the mfr. recommended. I just picked up a ported Probox, and it made a gigantic difference. I'm running only 200 watts, but it shakes all my mirrors if I want it to.

I'm using the Audiocontrol lc2i and it is awesome. It has been in for awhile now and does a fantastic job. No static or restricted noises with it. I used +/- from one rear speaker into the (left) input on the unit. This is where the feature for the GTO is. If you want to use the unit as a remote turn on for the amp instead of running a separate remote wire to a keyed 12v source. This info was straight from Audiocontrol and works flawlessly for me. It is a little tricky to set it up, but follow the instructions and it is sweet. Check out my thread I did awhile back http://ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=142272

so scratch that idea, i bought a kenwood ddx 470 , nothing fancy but it has what i want, plus 4 volt preouts...ill have amps driving the speakers so its a non issue, i just wanted to keep my steering wheel controls (pac harness), bluetooth and back up cam....now i gotta figure out how to mod the backup cam to work with this.i like how an aftermarket deck has much more expandability...plus ill sell the factory nav and offset the cost some.the pac hanress has a reverse wire so i just need to mod the input...any help would be great
