Default The power of candy and doughnuts

The first time I took my truck into the dealer (not the one I bought the truck from but one 5 miles away not 60) I took them a box of doughtnuts the the truck was in for a recall and I asked about the price to flash the brake control that I installed and they said $100 I said no thanks and hopped into the shuttle for a ride to work. 5 minutes later they called me and said " We talked it over and how about $50 for the flash after all you did bring donuts " I said ok They called when it was done and told me that if I paid over the phone they would deliver it to me Needless to say the receptionist at work was quite surprised when my freshly washed truck was delivered Then there was coil pack issue #1 in june of "11 when the truck was 5 months old the following is a posting of the firs problem in Jun of "11
{ to make a long story short started vacation today that revolves around our truck and towing #1 sat drive 4 hrs see son graduate from college haul an apartment home #2 Oh to NC with travel trailer for family reunion #3 11th annual group camping with friends truck peters out on tue 1 cylinders dead dealer orders new computer arrives today at noon does not solve problem find a short in wiring harness for #3 cylinder after fix #5 cylinder dies same issue it fried both coil packs but they had only one on hand they removed one from a truck in the showroom and put it in our truck good to go Kudos to Spitzer dodge/chrysler/ram in parma ohio for saving our vacation 3 techs and sevice mgr worked all afternoon to get us going} Which brings us to coil pack issue #5 for the 2nd time in a week the check engine light came on and the truck started running rough I called to bring it in and they said to bring it in this morning it was much easier to drop it off yesterday on the way home from work but I told them I would need a loaner (they actually use Enterprise rentals for loaners) he told me that they would set it up when I got there I then called Enterprise and told them I would need 4wd pickup as a rental because that's what I drive.Stopped for a couple of bags of candy for the shop guys and drop the truck off Enterprise pecks me up and gives me a 2014 ram 1500 quad cab 4wd big horn with 3000 miles on it. Today they called and said that they need to replace a wiring harness that they believe is shorting out and causing the coil pack/ cylinder missing problem but the part won't be in until Monday also that the extended warranty I have (not from Chrysler) won't cover the repair or rental. Then he said " we talked it over in the shop and got Chrysler to goodwill it, it won't cost you anything" I said"well they should because this is the 5th time in for the same problem that started when the truck was 5 months old " Then his exact quote to me was "Well yeah there's that plus we really like the candy and donuts you bring" Every time I go there I take them some donuts or candy You gotta love what a $7 box of donuts or 2 for $6 bags of candy will get you

I used to take 2 boxes of fresh donuts with me every time that i got any service at the dealership, recently the donut shop closed its doors for the last time
You would not believe the service that i got, even the Service Dept. office gals would smile & say Hello when i drove in for service

Now several of the Service Dept & Parts Dept people are new & don't know me, i need to find another donut shop

I used to tell my Soldiers " You aren't late if you bring donuts" then one guy started doing it 2-3 times a week... had to put a stop to it once I found out his GF was a manager at DD...

WOW......I just started to laugh out loud.....Kids are like what are you watching dad.....LOL.......Ummmm nothing.....

I too will never eat those again.......

On that note.....I totally agree.....I have a great dealer and bring them treats on regular basis....I know everyone including the owners and they really appreciate it....

I also dont mind going for a cold beverage with the service and parts manager......Really good people who go far and beyond......
