Default New 2012 Power Wagon Owner...

Hey guys, just wanted to share my excitement with everyone and learn a few things. I just picked up a 2012 Power Wagon with 23,000 miles on it. I need to know what truck specifications do you use to order parts for it? Do you just tell the parts store or click on the website for a 2500? How does it work? Because I don't see the option on websites for Power Wagon. I'd like to get some 3 step running boards on it, and brush guard, and a black toolbox. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I'd also like to look into getting different tires without having to do anything. Something a little bigger than the stock BFG's.

And as far as the locker switches on the dash. I haven't read thru the owners manual completely. Can someone explain to me what that is for. Obviously I know its to lock the front and rear but when can I use it and when can't I? Does the light stay on when it's engaged/disengaged or does it just flash?

Thanks in advance guys, Eddie.

As for the suspension, its mostly just standard 2500HD (gas). The springs and shocks are really the only difference. The front are 2" taller than standard and the rears use factory shims (blocks) for 2" lift. You can shop around for any 2500HD kit, just remember to subtract 2" from whatever the advertised lift height is. I.E. a 3" lift for a 2500 Gas will actually only give you 1" (assuming you replace the factory rear blocks with whatever comes in the kit).

Several companies make the 3 step boards you are looking for, I have the N-Fab steps as I like their construction better.

The locker and sway bar switches on the dash do just that, lock the front and rear axles. In factory configuration they only function when in 4Low. AS for when you should use the locker, that's sort of on you. I would suggest trying whatever obstacle it is in 4 Low first and then if you cant make it use the lockers. The light will flash on the dash until the lockers engage then it will go steady. it will go out once they are disengaged.

Hope all that helps.

Really the cab size and bed size only matter when ordering parts for the cab or bed (steps, toneau, etc). The suspension components are the same. theoretically the spring rate should change, and some of the higher end companies will account for this, most will simply have a diesel spring and a gas spring for their respective kits (diesel is about 800lbs heavier in the front). As for the control arms, steering linkage, etc, its all the same.

If you have a Power Wagon you should have the 6'6" (66") bed unless something has changed I am not aware of.

Thanks brother. And for the rear seats? Select the option with the arm rest since it has that pull down/out arm rest in the middle?
