Default soften my ride

I am the proud owner of a 2014 regular cab ram. 200 miles so far. Love it but the suspension is a little stiff. In the future I would like to lower the rear end a couple of inches and maybe soften the ride a little. Will never put much weight in the box. Has anyone tried different coil springs to accomplish this? Thanks

If you only plan on lowering the rear you could get 2" lowering springs. As for the ride you could install bilsteins all around for improved ride quality.

thought bilsteins were known for a stiffer ride. is this not correct?

While Bilsteins are known to be of excellent quality, huntergreen you are correct in that they are also known to be somewhat stiff. I would do some research before you go replacing your OEM shocks with Bilsteins, especially as pricey as they are. I don't think that's going to get you a softer ride. Honestly, I thought the coilspring rear suspensions of the new trucks was supposed to provide a "car like" ride. I'm kind've at a loss as to what you could do to improve it.

Sorry for the misinformation I was just under the impression that they are softer because everyone on here says after they install them that the ride is much better than factory. In that case I have no clue how to soften it up. To be honest the first time I read this post is the first time I've ever heard someone say that the new suspension was stiff.

My wife thinks that the Ram hits every bump hard. And while you feel them, they're not jarring like they were in my Santa Fe. I prefer the ride in the Ram over the Santa Fe any day. Do I wish it were a little more forgiving? Maybe... So I'm keeping an eye on this thread just in case.

You could always adjust your tire pressures.
