One day my buddy told me that we were going to have quail for supper, he grabbed a 12 gauge shotgun & told me to belt on a pistol to shoot any rattle snakes that we might encounter, 2 quail later, i was laying in the dirt. My friend saw some quail we had flushed taking flight, he fired 3 times as they were rising, by the second shot i saw that he was not looking at anything but the quail that were flying right in my direction.
That was the last time that i went hunting for supper.

I also had a farm tractor that i was operating in a cotton field shot during the First day of Pheasant season, damn trigger happy city folk
If it moves, shoot it
That statement is entirely to true saddly. 3 years ago i was gearing up for shotgun dear season with my brand new Remington 1187 slug gun to it out to sight her in and 30 rounds later i couldnt get any thing closer then a pie plate for a group at 25 yards (im not top shot worthy but that was way off from my normal soda can grouping with open sights) so borrowing my friends lead sled i finally got some grouping that i thought was acceptable.

Opening day first season right around 7:30 a massive 12 point comes in hot on a yearling doe and stops 30 yards dead broad side, i pull up solid lean on the tree i was in take a deep breathe and bang, i knew it was dead no way i could have missed, until i realize the my slug had destroyed a 3" maple about 3 feet to right of the buck.

Sick to my stomach i left the woods and get back home to see if it was me or what it was i jack a slug in the chamber lean in on my target pull the trigger and click... i look down and i see the back of a live primer and my barrel slid half way down the magazine tube, after i got the stones to throw the barrel and walk away i called Remington furious they had me send it in they had it for about 4 months and every time i would call they knew nothing about it had had no record. month 4 came around and i finally got patched to the GM of the plant and chewed ass 2 days later i get my gun back, start looking it over the entire gas block gas rings and lower design of the gun is completely different and after many many phone calls to this day i still have no idea what happened or what they did

Hey now... Im a city boy but I can shoot...lol
I got my hunting license last year finally (at 45)

I started off when I was small going hunting with my dad/uncles, black powder (50 cal.) one day in the hype of the hunt my rifle was loaded and forgot about so was reloaded a second time (on accident by my uncle) so, I found my target (think it was rabbits) and followed through and BAM into the wind.... My god, this big puff of smoke turns into a rolling ball of fire coming back at me....lol

Later, we go hunting again and my uncle has a Weatherby... for those who dont know, its an elephant rifle. Got this 50 fot strap to wrap all around you, well, so for me as a smaller guy compared to these massive brutes I have in my family (I was in my teens) so they are laughing and say I can shoot it first (targets) So I get bound up in this thing, and they are telling me to keep it tight on my shoulder ( I should have known they were up to something) so i sight it and pull the trigger.... OMG, it kicked like a mule, no wait, like a pissed off Bull... or maybe a semi truck hit me??? That monster ass rifle kicked up, and kept going, took me with it... never again will I shoot it.

But I owned a 9-22, 39 special snub nose, a 9mm ruger that jambed all the time and think it was wore out, shot 40 cal glocks and 357 mag, 44 mag and a 50 cal desert eagle. many more I dont remember. Now I dont own any more but in the process of buying a side arm for a CCW and hunting as well as other firearms to hunt with...soon
you can see the spent shell by my forearm and sis-n-law got the dead arm....lol
