Default Mpg????

So it's week 2 in my 1500 and I am surprised at my MPG. I do a lot of city driving (stop & go) and I am mostly in 2WD. I am only getting 11.5 MPG. I finally had it on the Highway last night (LOVE THAT AERO MODE!). That is when my mpg creeped from 11MPG to an average of 11.5. What MPG are you guys getting in a 2013 1500 5.7 Hemi 8 speed Transmission?

Thanks!

Around town driving, stop and go and short trips really bring the MPG down. I get around 13.3 mpg average and when I go on weekend trips that have some real drive time my average goes up to 15.4. Keep in mind when you reset your tripmeter the Avg. starts over and if you never reset it the Avg. is going to be harder to change. I usually reset mine with every gas fill-up. The more miles you drive the more realistic the mpg Avg. will be. Congrats on the new truck!!

4x4 drive mode, second fill up. I left it on 4x4 so I can compare it with my previous suv. observed: 87 octane gas
city 12.5 computer.
hwy 14.54 mpg manual computation; 17.4 hwy computer; (270 miles) 70mph avg speed.
my old ride gets 15 city; 21 hwy but its only a V6 and requires 91 octane gas.

my next fill up..I'll leave it on 2wd and will report back here.

Truck now has almost 2500 miles. 2wd mode. btw with 3.92 RAR; i don't know if that will really makes a lot of difference. my recent trip 220miles combo flat and hills(up to 4k feet elevation), avg speed 55 hwy . going to the camp site headwind was up to 40mph! computer 18.3 mpg which is very good! coming back home was a breeze although I was hoping to get hit with the same wind gusts as tailwind to push the truck and get maybe 30mpg! observed mpg coming home was 21.1. so for my experience, window sticker is correct per computer calculations. my observed manual computations is about 2 mpg less.

BigBlackRam13; I'd say if you drive mostly city then try easing on the foot pedal rather than stomping on the foot pedal. Unfortunately in city driving it is hard to do that because you have a bunch of impatient, late for work, SOB's tailgating you trying to push the issue to go faster than the posted speed limit. My other advice is, don't buy into that MPG crap. You bought a 4x4 truck with a 5.7L Hemi brother! Power and performance first, MPG's second. My 4x4 RCLB averages 17mpg city/hwy mix and 22.4 hwy @ 70 mph with a 10 mph headwind for 50 miles one way on gradual up and down terrain. I can't complain about that. Oh forgot to mention, I drive mega conservative majority of the time and mash it when the Hemi needs to throw down.
