The only reason I dug so deep on the subject was because I definitely wanted it on my truck. I thought if I am ordering a new truck I want it to have exactly what I want on it. I told my dealership it will be a deal breaker if it doesn't. They guaranteed me it would. We will see when it gets delivered. They told me if it is not exactly as promised I do not have to buy it.

Same here, I ordered my truck because I wanted it to have everything I wanted and nothing I didn't. I called my dealer and they told me that mine doesn't have it. Not sure it's a deal breaker for me, as I didn't even think to make sure it had it or not. I didn't think they would make these trucks without it to be honest. I'm not sure I want to reorder and wait again anyways. To me this is nother reason why then need to fix that build site. It is so screwed up and doesn't show or let you know things like this when you build the truck you want. For me when I build an outdoorsman on the site if there are different transfer cases it should say somewhere what transfer case it comes with and if the other is available or not.

finn i agree, but i always by off the lot. always get more than what i would have ordered. after having some options, my list of must haves keeps growing from 20 years ago.

Well my dealer will not take the truck back, they told me I could trade it in but will loose a ton of money. Then they told me that the Big Horn does not have the option of 4W auto, and if the truck fishtails in the snow to just press the 4W low button.

I'm sure they meant '4WD Lock'. Definitely not '4WD Low'.

I wouldn't have bought this truck if they didn't offer a '4WD Auto' transfer case. It's a Borg-Warner 44-44 unit and is apparently only available behind the Hemi.

Did you pay extra for the option (4WD Auto)? When I look at the two different window stickers on the examples I gave, there was not a price next to the "Electronic Shift On Demand" item. So, if they are giving this away for free, I'm guessing everybody would select it.

4W lock is what used to be known as 4 HI. It engages the front axle but does not change the gear ratio in the transfer case. 4W Lo is 4 wheel drive low range. It changes the the transfer case gear ratio from 1:1 down to 2.6:1. This would be for slow travel off road or if you need a lot more power to the tires, like in deep mud. 4W Low is not something you would use on the street.

I just checked the window sticker. the shift on demand is listed as an option, but there is no price on it. It seems I did not pay extra for it.

So can I use the 4W lock on the street when it snows, how fast can I go in 4W lock.
Thanks
