I'm not sure what can be done since it's inside the gates here within the community. I don't know if these are "public" or "private" roads. I'm going to find out though. I worked for FDOT for a number of years. If I find out that these are public roads (which I kind of doubt), they are going to be in for some trouble they don't want.

I keep getting the run around everytime i call their Customer Care office. I get voicemail 9 out of 10 times, and the one time I reach someone, they tell me so and so happens to be in a meeting. I'm going to give them until tomorrow to call me back, or I'll take a day off work and sit in there office until I get my answers.

Public or private roads...who comes when someone gets into an accident in the community? A security Guard? The Traffic Safety Division should in all probability have jurisdiction because the roads are subject to the same laws as non-gated private communities.

That's good to know! Thank you.... I'm definitely going to get the ball rolling on this. I've got 10 million other things going on in my life and this is a pain in the a** to have to deal with, but oh well.

Only thing I don't understand is how are the construction vehicles not getting nails in their tires?

I'm sure they have to be. 5 people that I know, on my road, have gotten nails in their tires so far. I dont doubt that I have them in mine now. Its been a few days since I've checked them.

I'm certain $50 and some punk would bring you joy. Tire for tire ..

Construction crews can be heartless bastards sometimes - Before I sold a family estate last year a neighbor hired a contractor to put in a concrete driveway. I had a contact sending me surveillance of the property and imagine my disgust to see that contractor had DUMPED stumps, concrete, gravel, and old bricks in my family's driveway. Anyone within 50 miles of the place would have damn well been aware of the murder in my house a few years earlier. That's what disgusted me - the level of disregard, disrespect and an inability to grasp the sanctity of the place.

I called a detective friend, and he put me in touch with the LEO on the beat, and after a few weeks it became clear how weak it was being handled. There was no joy to be had .. no resolution .. no admission of guilt .. no cleanup. Nothing.

So I feel your pain, and frustration, believe me...

I hear stuff like this now, and I go quietly psycho.

Hope you find some level of satisfaction Randy.

Sorry I don't buy it. I used to work these jobs every day. guys just dont toss nails around or drop them in the street. most nails today are gun nails not the cheap dime store nails like your posting. the idea of you getting 4 flat tires all witch could not be repaired is Retarded. this just does not happen. also good luck trying to sue them. you have to prove your tires got flat from his nail. not a nail from down the road but his nail. did you save that nail? can you prove its his ? good luck .. these guys have to drive the same roads in and out just like you do. most these guys drive new high dollar trucks and would get angry just like you to have to fix tires daily. IMo your a Nag. on job sites that's what they call the guy or gal that live right next to the job site that just NAG's the entire time there in the site. We used to see this all the time.

Here's where your 100% wrong, and I'll gladly explain how and why.

I was raised to respect people, along with their property and belongings. I am the type of person that minds my own business until someone does something out of line towards myself or my family. I was raised in a small town, on hundreds of acres with no neighbors. That's how I like to live, but unfortunately my career has me living in a neighborhood at this time. Like I said, I mind my own business there. I did not ask for their to be continuous construction going on where I live. I bought my home 4 years ago, so it's not like I moved into it as it was happening. Why on earth would I make any of this up? I have absolutely no reason to. Also, I don't have to prove anything. They will have to prove that the nails/metal/screws did not come from their job site(s). I've got 5 neighbors who all got nails in there tires around the same time I did. Coincidence? No, it's not.

I make my own money and buy my own things. I'm not asking for a hand-out. However, this is something they are responsible for, not me. How do you "not buy it" when I'm taking photos of the nails, screws, and metal laying out on my road? I don't even have any of that stuff and certainly wouldn't go buy it to throw it out on the road. I wonder about people sometimes.

And no, I'm quite the opposite of a "nag." These workers are not driving any high dollar trucks. Most are in vehicles that look like they barely run. The majority of these workers, if I had to guess, are in the country illegally and could give a shit less about what they are doing. I am not nagging, just to be nagging. I don't nag, when I have to pull forward and back up about 12 times just to get out of my driveway every morning, because they are blocking me from getting in or out. There is construction happening, they have to be there and I understand that. They should be cleaning up there damn mess, or at least not leaving it in the middle of the street.

I guess I'm going to have to side with Bartlett on this one.

They were probably picked up by a tornado a couple hundred miles away and just rained down out of the sky. There is no possible way they fell out of a truck or got lodged in the treads of the construction vehicles tires just to come loose due to centrifugal force as the vehicle reached speed.

Either that or the OP has nothing better to do than throw debris in the road and sweep piles of it up next to the porta potty.

What's wrong with you Randy, don't you have better things to do?

Now stop whining and go take the good tires off your truck, put better ones on, and open up a tire repair shop in your neighborhood to sell tires to all the other people that don't need them.

I work construction and know that this stuff just happens. It appears from the pics to be pretty clearly coming from the job site(s). Can't really help it, but they should at least be reasonable with you.

I can guarantee you they are not throwing nails on the road on purpose.
