Default Need help, 8.4 is dead after OEM backup camera install

I just had the Mopar K6862043 OEM back up camera installed last night by my buddy who is a Ford Mechanic. He followed the instructions step by step, and after the install the screen was dead, no life at all. So we took everything apart to re inspect and it all looked correct, so I figured it just needed to flash from the Ram dealership.

The Dealership did the flash, nothing. They did a complete re configuration of the unit and nothing. They checked the fuse and re checked all the installation steps done and everything looks fine.

They think the screen itself is fried...

He disconnected the batter before install, and I held the screen like a baby while he changed the 3 pins out behind the unit. Why would the screen just die for no reason?

Does anyone have any ideas on what else I can do before shelling out $800 for a new screen???

Anything is worth a shot...

I did mine last week on my truck and my radio is locked too. I have the 5.0 and its locked on the uconnect logo that i have never even seen before. What pins did you swap on your install. Mine said add pins to position 31,32,33. Going to the dealer wed. see if they can unlock it and if not another ebay radio i guess.

Should be covered under the 3 year warranty, I`am sure the dealer checked if there was any codes.

just a heads up if he unpopulated three wires and then added three wires to their spot might have added to wrong area. Thats what i did in error. Took out top right three wires on 52 pin connector behind radio and should have left those as they are actually number 1,2,3 that control air bags and something else. When i hooked radio up nothing just blank black screen. Took those back out of connector and put original three wires back in, mine were colored gray, blue and light blue with purple stripe I think and radio screen came back but its locked on uconnect logo. I put old ra1 radio back in and it works perfect so the voltage on those wires must have locked my radio up. if you need a pic or something of correct pin population i can text you.

I was under the impression when we purchase a new vehicle such as the Ram that there is a tag with a number on it handed to you along with owners manual and such. And if radio locks or gets stolen this code must be entered into radio to unlock radio. I believe I have my tag with radio code kept with purchase docs.

The instructions that come with the OEM back up camera is messed up. The picture shown is 180 degrees upside down from the way the connector is numbered. Found this out the hard way.
