Default shock upgrade; valving and advice wanted

5" rough country lift. Rides rough as could imagine. I feel every pebble.

I was talking to a guy who sells race runners, by race-a-way.
I inquired about their 2.25 remote reservoir shocks: https://lorenzindustries.com/theshoc...rvoir_2_5.html

He said he could custom valve them for me and make sure the stock bolt fits them,. I want to get some for the front, but not sure if I can afford them for the rear also.

Question: How bad would it be if I mixed it up and put something like bilsteins without reservoirs on the back? If so, what kind of valve set up? I have custom steel bumpers, which add a bit of weight.

the shock mount distances are as follows:
Front: Compressed 20", flexed 33"
Rear: Compressed 20", flexed 31"

Any advice please!

I am running Bilstein 5100s up front and Fox Race series 2.0 in the rear and I don't notice a difference. I know that isn't exactly what you are asking about but I was unsure before I decided on them and had inquired at my local truck shop. Hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Thanks for the reply. So you have the better shocks in the rear? I was thinking the opposite, due to the weight. I'm trying to save money on the rear shocks if I can.
I have to replace my ball joints for the third time in 2 years, so I'm breaking down and getting expensive shocks to try to save them.

I also have Fox 2.0 in the rears, they are far better then the Bilsteins. I am not saying they are bad, just that the Fox's are even better. About $114 a piece.
