Had a similar issue with the rear of my 95 4x4. I drove it that way for 40k miles. Turned-out it was the carrier bearings. They caused no additional damage by time I got them fixed. So unless it changes drastically, relax for now, and get the axle serviced at your convenience.

The clicking in the initial stages sounds like a universal joint, does it clunk when switched from forward to reverse?

Is it a short bed (6") or standard bed (8")?

See where I'm going with this LT? I have a 6 ft and no carrier.

The humming sounds like the rear axle bearings might be going out. My old truck had that symptom. Turns out, my bearings were trashed and I had no preload.

The clicking sounds like a bad u joint. I had a quad cab short bed with a 1 piece drive shaft. I'm assuming single cab long beds do too.

My quad cab long bed is a 2 piece. I just replaced the carrier bearing and all 3 u joints.

Do you have any vibration?

Check the pinion nut, may be backing off and that will cause a hum on acceleration and quiet down on deceleration.
