With the way I have my truck setup right now (see signature for details), I'd love for someone with a Raptor to prove to me that their Raptor is better and more capable than my truck. It's not going to happen. I live and work in what is considered to be the "city." However, I spend all of my free time (and some sick time, haha) hunting and fishing. I hunt and fish in Florida, and I hunt in Georgia. My truck getting stuck, or not being able to get me where I want to go, are the last worries in my mind. Oh, and I am getting better MPGs than the Raptor.

Thanks guys, I really do like the looks of the Ram. Almost more than some Raptors. I think the thing making me want a Raptor is just how everyone says they're so "badass". There's so much hype around them its crazy.

ApexCars summed it up great I think. They are a toy, and I would be buying a truck for a daily driver, hunting, fishing, boat towing, etc. so I need a practical truck.

Sometimes when I can't make a decision I buy both. Lol. Do it. Life is short. Just make sure you put one in the wife's name so she thinks it is hers. Lol

Overall I think the ram is the better allround truck no question I have a sport and love it . Decent off capabilities its only fault is the lack of a locking front diff but certianly good in the snow. Plus its got great towing capabilities and it drives like a race car for me its not even comparable to the raptor.

I should note that I don't do any hardcore 4-wheeling. Most of my offroading is gravel road driving, dirt trails, and driving through the occasional pasture or field. I'm more worried about ground clearance than anything else. Don't wanna rip off the front end if I hit a rut.

If that is the case, Ram hands down. Pick out the Ram you like and put a leveling kit or 4" lift, get some nice 34"-35" tires and you are good to go. I just picked up my new Longhorn last night and it is just awesome. I already upgraded the tires and the lift goes on it 2 weeks. Is it a hardcore desert high speed off-raoder, nope, but it will do for hunting, finshing, runs to Lowes, towing my muscle car and as a general purpose daily driven rig.

I was also considering the Raptor, but ended up with the Ram1500 CC and couldn't be happier. Good luck on you decision
