Default Need a new 8.4 screen - need advice!

My 8.4 screen got damaged (long story) and I need a new screen. Estimates from dealership are $3k+, private company was $2k+.

I have found these screens on ebay for $600-$900 so I figured this was my best option. Has anyone replaced their screen before?

My big concern is once I install the new screen - will I need to upload software to make it work??? How do I do that or does the dealer need to do it.

Any tips or advice is appreciated! Thanks

The guy at NavRepair said he can fix it no problem. New screen and new digitizer (SP?). $325 - compared to $600 best case for a new one.

I will research the company and give him a try if he sounds legit and keep everyone posted.

Thanks

I just got my screen back from navrepair, it's installed and works and looks like new. My screen was cracked and the touch response was damaged. Now it's like new.

It cost $300 compared to a new screen.

I highly recommend their work, I am very impressed and happy to have a working nav screen
