Default My truck smokes like a freight train in single digit weather!

My truck smokes like a freight train in single digit weather! Does yours?

I wonder if it is because the 8 speed transmission keeps the engine temp down and the exhaust is significantly cooled by the time it exits the tail pipes? I say this because there is a lot of condensation at the tips also. This is probably also why they made the exhaust outta stainless...not to save us from buying an exhaust but all that condensation would have rotted a rolled steel exhaust within 6 months! LOL!

What you are seeing is water vapor. Much of North America is seeing much colder than average temperatures this winter. When it is colder, the normally invisible water vapor will cool and condense into visible droplets much faster and closer to the tailpipe. When it is warmer, the vapor can disippate farther before it condenses, so it is not so visible.

I would expect you will also notice you can "see your breath" much more when it is below zero vs the low 30s (F).
