Congrats on the new ride. I'm sure you'll be riding with a lot more confidence now that you don't have to worry about the van breaking down

The funny thing is we had no issues with the Van prior to this. It was a great vehicle for us as well. but with only 117K km on it that scares me of what was to come if the head gasket went on it.

Shawn. I'm seeing red again, was that just a coincidence?

I'm glad to hear that you got out from under the van. As I said initially, the cooling systems on them are prone to a domino effect after one component fails.

Now you just have to figure out how to get rid of it within the next 2 1/2 years before the girls get their permits.

I bought my wife a 2004 chevy venture, fully loaded, used just before our son was born in 2010. My wife drives that damn thing like shes in the Indy 500...seriously! It has the bigger V6 in it and we have never had anissue with it other than she wrecked it a few times already, but its still running like a top with regular maintenance.

If the payments arent going to hinder you and youre worried the van is going to be a oney pit, go for it...Or fix it and sell it out right (youll get more than trading it in)

I put a brand new motor in a car and traded it in, and the stealerhip...yeah, they stoleit from me...never again...lol

Just use your best judgement, can you do without a van? will a car suffice or maybe a small suv? Do you need AWD/4x4 or will a FWD get you through the winters? Can you make payments another 5+ years?
Not to mention the insurance.

They took the Van and I told them that I shouldn't drive it. They asked me to drive it in for hte trade so I thought well it is theirs now so I will. about 1.5 miles fromt eh house she died. Now they have to tow it in but oh well I have the new car and they can have that.

Red yes I stayed out of that I let the wife find the car she wanted and it was this one she also looked at the chrysler 200 but thought it was an old persons car

Shawn, the Venge is a much nicer looking car over the 200. The front end is so much better looking. Overall Ma should have dropped the 200 and kept the Venge. I am looking forward to the rwd Venge in 16 if they do bring it out.

We had a rental 200 when we went to Banff two Summers back. Fun factor in that car was zero.

Rentals are mainly 4 cylinder so you don't go having fun.
