Default Auxiliary fuel tank 40 gallon

I am in a fix. I have a 2011PW. And pull a toy hauler. In Alaska gas stations are not always close. Looking for a company that makes gas aux tanks for under the tonneau cover. Nobody we can find will talk to us because of DOT issues. Any advise will be helpful.

you can install a 30 gallon fuel tank/toolbox option from TRANSFER FLOW, i have one
smog laws don't allow me to make a permanent connection, but it has its own pump & nozzle that is quite a bit like the nozzles at a gas station. Fuel transfer is about as fast as a gas station too

this one is a bit less costly & it looks like it also has its own pump & nozzle

The laws reguarding this just changed this last year. You can now carry up to 50 additional gallons of gas, you just cant make a permanent connection as said above. many companies make similar items. Another option is to by a larger tank intended for a diesel (55 gal replacement tanks or 32 gal additional tanks) and install it anyway. The fuel storage system on diesel and gas are very similar.

Titan is now makeing a 30 something gal tank that goes in the area of your spare tire. I have been seriously considering it. Besides once you go larger than 35" tires a full size spare wont fit down there anyway.

I installed a 50 gal aux fuel tank/tool box in my 06 Megacab dually from Handy Industries. The filler cap,and all the connections are all under the lid,so if you want you can hook it up to your fuel tank without anyone knowing about it.

http://www.handyindustries.com/produ...x-combinations

I installed an electric fuel pump inside the tool box,and ran it through a water seperator filter that I mounted to the frame, and just T'd a fitting into the return vent line to the filler tube of the tank.
I wired a switch on the dash, and when I wanted to transfer fuel from the aux. tank to the main tank,I just turned the pump on.

*NOTE* You will need to do a test on the pump to see how many gallons per minute it actually pumps,or you run the chance of overfilling the main tank, and fuel will start coming out of the vent cap.
Don't ask me how I know this-LOL!

More pics-

This is totally hidden from view,so I never had any problems with inspections,or the DOT. And,it works great.
