Just depends on your truck. What kind of gearing it has, auto or manual, ect... and for something like that, I don't know that a stock suspension on the 1500 can even handle that. My 98 5.9 with 3.55 gearing, auto trans (rebuilt) the thing is a complete dog going up any grade over 4-5%. The trailer I haul is about 4000 dry and maybe 5800-6000 loaded. Long story short, I get passed up by semi's every time. I mean it really really struggles.

What Nck said. You might be able to pull it, but you're going to feel it...

3:55's, auto. I dont mind going slow, I only use it within a 50mile radious from my home town but its quite mountainous. (bc canada) I tried looking into it to see if the weight was legal, but I'm no good with figuring out payload etc so I was hoping you guys could tell just 'by the size'

I know tounge weight is 1100lbs... but putting airbags in my truck is no problem. The other question... I installed a front mount trans cooler. Will this be adequite? I've never towed with a dodge auto before.

just an update: I sold the 1500 and bought a 2001 2500 long box 4x4 with the 5.9, already has overloads. It should do the trick just fine
