Default Factory Hitch Specs

I have a 2012 Ram 1500 QC I have the factory hitch install and am wondering what all the specs are on it. What is the Max trailer weight it can handle. I have all my other specs in order just want the hitch info. Not sure if there is more then one option of hitch that they put on these models. Also how do i tell if its a class III or IV. Thanks

Your questions are a very much 'it depends.' You should have a Class IV hitch on your truck. Most of all the towing info on your truck should be nearly the same as the 2013 info. You can find alot of into at the Ram site; try this link: http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/towing_guide/tow_chart/

Good luck.

The factory 2" hitch receiver is Class IV. I believe the bumper hitch is rated class III.

From Wikipedia:
According to SAE J684
Class I up to 2,000 pounds (910 kg) light loads
Class II up to 3,500 pounds (1,600 kg) light loads
Class III up to 5,000 pounds (2,300 kg) larger loads (campers, boats, etc.)
Class IV up to 10,000 pounds (4,500 kg) larger loads (campers, boats, etc.)

If the hitch looks like this

then it is a class III.
