Default painting a lift kit?

Anyone had their lift kit painted?
I was thinking of either seeing if BDS would paint it for me cause they'd know exactly where to not get the paint or seeing if a local company would powder coat it. Any thoughts?

BDS kits come powder coated.... So painting it properly would be a bit of a task. Really the best way to do it would be to strip all the powder coat off to get it down to bear metal and then doing prime and paint it from there. The other option would be to just use a good primer over the powder coat and then paint it.

I would contact BDS and see what they can do though. Obviously you'd pay a premium to get a custom colour but it might be do-able.

If you cant talk BDS into doing the powder coat in a special color, then you can take it to a local powder coat shop and have them respray in your color of choice.

They wouldn't spray over the BDS paint would they? I was thinking the local shop would have to sand blast and go from there.

I'm not 100% sure on the process, but I think as long as the powder is still in good condition they could just spray again. I had a set of wheels done in grey that I didn't like so my buddy did another coat of black I don't think he had to re blast them, but I'll check with him.

Now that you mention the actual colors, I'm now thinking for sure they'd have to restart from scratch as I want a dark lime green basically and I think the black would show through the lighterish green.
