Default v6 e85

Anyone with a v6 used e85? What is your experience? Is it worth it?

Not used it, and being that E85 is more expensive around here, and you get worse gas milage with it, I will not. Maybe if they get the price down low enough where I actually save money then maybe. I do like that I don't have to worry as much about the gas companies and the Government raising the ethanol content of regular gas though being it is set up to handle E85, the 15% that they are starting to put out won't bother mine.

Just put a few gallons in my 13 V6. ran fine but noticed slightly less mileage. will run a full tank and see if it's worth it.

Ran a full tank (~32 gallons). I averaged 14 MPG (compared to 17 - 18 mpg on winter gas). It has been averaging highs around 0 to 10 degrees with lows around -20 to -10 for the past couple months.

Ethanol E85 is about $3 vs E10 is about $3.5. Not looking at anything but dollar wise, its not worth it.

With that said the truck seemed to have slightly more low end power (100+ octane of E85?)

I also ran a 3/4 e85 and 1/4 regular gas. The e85 was 2.69/gallon I didnt notice any big mpg drop if it did it wasnt much but like I said this wasnt 100% e85 either. I also didnt notice any power gain either witch are both complete opposite of what I experienced in 07. Im in southeast wisconsin most of the time and its been COLD. Maybe this jas something to do with it????

I haven't ran any in mine yet, still on the first tank of gas. I use to run it in my 2011 silverado with the 5.3 V8. I only did that when E85 was .75 cents cheaper than regular gas. My experience with it was in the winter time I would get about 3mpg worse than regular gas. In the summer time I would get only about 2mpg less. Either way your not saving any money by running it.
